Can Hollywood Video put me in credit bureau?

They did not do it, and 4 months ago he rented 5 movies and did not return them. (even though I have a restraining order against him).
HV says I am responsible and I never called them to remove him. I am getting several letters and phone calls from a collection agency. They say I owe $300.
Can they report me to the credit bureau, if I never gave them my SSN#?
